RAME is a quintet composed by Valentina Fin (voice), Giovanni Fochesato (saxophones), Mauro Spanò (piano), Marco Centasso (double bass) and Filippo Mampreso (drums).
The artistic project was born in Vicenza in 2016, with the immediate goal of building its own language through the composition of original songs that would combine the most intimate aspects of improvisation with the writing of themes inspired by significant works and authors of the Italian cultural heritage.
The quintet's debut album was released in 2018 for the jazz label Emme Record Label. The record titled "RAME" is the project's manifesto and alternates moments of extemporaneous composition with songs written in song form such as Ex Voto from the homonymous poem and Montale and Disio, a tribute to Dante.
Over the years, RAME has performed in festivals in Italy and abroad. Among which stand out: Vicenza Jazz (VI), JazzMi -Music for a new planet (MI), Fara Jazz, (FR), Jazz Area Metropolitana (VE), Nisville Jazz Festival (Serbia). In 2018 he won the third prize at the prestigious "Jazz Junior" competition in Krakow and placed among the finalists of Bucharest Jazz Competition, performing at Europa Jazz festival (Romania).
In 2021 the quintet released the second album entitled "Oscura Era" (Wow Records), deepening the search for a new and experimental language.
